Dr. Daryl Lawson

Dr. Daryl Jay Lawson is a leading expert in wound care and musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging. He holds a B.S. degree from Central Michigan University, an MPT from the University of Southern California, and a DSc from Loma Linda University. His doctoral dissertation focused on chronic, non-healing wounds in diabetic patients, which led to several publications and the invention of Senlore, a novel device for wound healing. He is the co-founder of Adlore, Inc., a company that is developing SenLore, a new device to treat and monitor diabetic foot ulcers.

He received the President’s Award from the American Physical Therapy Association for his outstanding contributions to the profession. He was awarded a $100,000 grant from the North Carolina Biotechnology Department to conduct research on improving diabetic foot ulcer healing rates. He is currently a tenured associate professor at WMU, where he teaches courses on integumentary/wound care, biophysical agents/electrophysiology, and orthopedics. He also practices as a clinician, specializing in wound management, orthopedics, and musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging. He is also involved in teaching and research on musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging, a technique that uses sound waves to visualize soft tissues and joints.
