Founder-scientist. The DFU research line the company is built on is his own: wound care, electrophysiology, and orthopedics. B.S., Central Michigan University; MPT, University of Southern California; orthopedic residency at Kaiser Hayward; DSc, Loma Linda University, with a dissertation on chronic, non-healing wounds in people with diabetes. Twelve years of clinical practice at Renown Medical Center in Reno before academia. Associate professor of physical therapy education at Elon University (2015–2017), where a $95,500 North Carolina Biotechnology Center grant supported therapeutic-boot work with engineering collaborator Chris Arena; prototype work was described as happening in Elon’s Maker Hub. Later taught at Western Michigan University. Founding chair and director of the University of Nevada, Reno Doctor of Physical Therapy program (first cohort anticipated fall 2027, pending CAPTE candidacy); UNR’s faculty directory lists him in the School of Public Health, where that program sits. Recipient of the APTA President’s Award.
